California offers reciprocity for the General Contractor license. AZ, LA, MS, NV, NC — trade exam may be waived (5 yrs licensed, good standing); law exam still required. NASCLA accepted for B.

What reciprocity actually gets you

Reciprocity is not a licence transfer. Where California grants it, the effect is usually that Contractors State License Board (CSLB) — B General Building waives part of the examination for someone already licensed and in good standing elsewhere. You still submit a California application, and the state's other conditions still apply.
